Prayer request update

Please continue to pray for Colton.

Update from Dwight Standridge:
I talked to Tracy Booth (Tammy’s brother) this morning. Colton’s night last night was a lot better than the night before. From doing the surgery yesterday, they took care of all the bleeding in his brain. The doctors expect the pressure on his brain to fluctuate up and down the next 3 days. Unless it reaches a certain point, they have done all they can do at this point for Colton. The next 3 days they are going to try to keep him as still and as relaxed as they can because they don’t want his brain under any kind of stress. He is on a respirator and will be until some point in the future, again just to relieve his body from the stress of breathing. After 3 days when all the swelling and bruising goes down, maybe the doctors can see exactly where to go from here and give some sort of timeline or prognosis. Until then, it’s a waiting game and let’s all just pray that Colton stays strong.
Tammy and Warren seemed to be ok last night. Tammy is the sweetest and most special type of person you’ll ever meet. She just kept saying how overwhelmed she was that so many people care and that they have so much support from friends and loved ones. Warren is taking it a lot harder- that’s his boy in that room hooked up to all those machines and he can’t do a thing to help him. About the first thing he said to us was “I just want to hold him” and that just about ripped my heart out. I can’t imagine the struggle each of them is going through. They have a great close family and many, many friends to support them and that’s good. Colton will be in ICU for 2+ more weeks minimum so it’s going to be a long journey for all of them.
They said they had a powerful, great prayer vigil at the high school last night for Colton. That’s great and that’s what Colton needs for now!
Specific Prayer requests: Colton’s swelling goes down and stays down so the doctors can move forward. Wisdom for the doctors. Warren and Tammy - that God will embody them with His strength as they continue this journey.

Thanks for the update. We will keep praying.

The whole school at PACS has been praying for Colton and his family. I hate that this has happened to their family, but it is uplifting to see how the community of Athens and surrounding towns can care about someone else’s tragedy in this day and age! Go athens!
