downtown community fellowship is a church family meeting in the heart of downtown Athens. Whether you are a seeker, skeptic, struggler, or believer, we provide a safe place for you to continue your spiritual journey. We meet together for worship on the 1st floor of the Tasty World building on Sundays at 7pm. Tasty World is located on the corner of Broad and Jackson, one block from the UGA arch and downtown square. We also meet for dinner and to study the Bible in House Fellowships throughout Athens during the week. We hope to see you soon!
Core Beliefs
We are followers of Jesus Christ. We desire to live our lives in perspective of how He lived and the teachings He gave. We want to be more like Jesus, and we know this is a long term pursuit. We encourage patience with one another as we journey together following the path Jesus has laid out before us. More »
History
Our church began in 1998 as God gave the vision of dcf-Athens to church planter John Reeves and called Chet Boyd III to move to Athens. Since then many people have shaped the identity of our largely transient community. We give thanks to God for all He did in them and through them. Now as we become more rooted, we still have open doors for those drifters - whether student, homeless, or just passing through Athens for a year or two. Our doors are open to all, regardless of age, race, or background. We look forward to seeing who the Lord will use to help us write the next chapter. More »
